Make sure those outdoor fur babies have a dry bed that is out of the wind, so that they can stay warm! Also, make sure your elderly/disabled neighbors have a safe source of heat.

Today’s Hourly Weather

Local 5-Day Forecast for the Plateau
Local matters, especially when it comes to your weather forecast! Bringing you your local weather since 2017!
Winds of change howl today…evolve into creating dangerous single-digit wind chills tonight and Thursday.
Rain showers will develop as we get closer to noon. Those will be rather widespread by afternoon and evening. As colder air moves back in, rain showers will quickly change to snow showers (sometime around 5:00 pm). Light accumulation of snowfall is possible, especially for the western edges of the plateau (Mayland to Monterey to Jamestown). Up to an inch of snow is possible, with isolated higher amounts still possible.
Snow flurries should continue into Thursday morning, along with very cold temps. Gusty northerly winds will make it feel much colder and dangerously cold wind chills continue through at least 9:00 a.m.
Another system kicks up the winds from the southwest on Friday. That system should bring more light snow to the plateau for Friday night and Saturday. This looks like another light event, with under an inch currently expected. That accumulation forecast could increase a bit as we get closer to Friday night, so stay tuned! Since this system is looking less likely to form a Gulf low, our chances for significant snow are practically zero. Still, like I said, another light snow event could still be in the cards for us. I’ll keep ya posted!
