My forecasts come from me. I’m not perfect but I use my meteorology degree, my connections with colleagues, and all the available data that I have to make the best forecast I can for the Cumberland Plateau. The graphic below is my rule of my thumb. In tonight’s update, we’ll be about one day out.

Proudly contracted with Crossville City Fire for important weather info. Thanks for trusting me with your weather since 2024, City Fire!

Local 5-Day Forecast for the Plateau

Local matters, especially when it comes to your weather forecast! Bringing you your local weather since 2017!

The calm before the storm…

Today is looking very nice. What a great day to prepare for the winter storm!

By Friday, clouds thicken as the first piece of our winter storm arrives…the arctic front. That front will be diving south during the day, eventually sending Friday night lows into the teens. Snow begins developing across the region late Friday night into Saturday morning.

Then, precip increases in intensity and coverage on Saturday. We’ll start out as snow then transition to sleet and then freezing rain. That wintry mix persists into the night.

By Sunday, temps may jump above freezing just before more arctic air rushes in by afternoon. That newer cold air will switch the mix back to snow, with light accumulations looking likely.

Then, temps plunge to near zero Sunday night. We’ll do that again Monday night, after a day of scattered flurries.
