MM’s Forecast for the Plateau

This forecast is tailor-made for the Cumberland Plateau by Meteorologist Mark Baldwin each day!
A forecast that is unfortunately trending drier…
The good news is that humidity has increased enough today to reduce our wildfire risk, though caution is still advised when doing any outdoor burning (make sure you get that permit!).
The dryer trend to the forecast doesn’t sound good when drought conditions continue to worsen on the plateau. While we still have a chance for a shower on Tuesday, rain chances for Wednesday though Friday have decreased. It is possible that those forecasts could trend drier.
Hopefully there’s enough of the system in tact to give us some decent rainfall on Saturday. I know we don’t want rain on the weekend but with hay fields, budding vegetation, and lowering water tables needing lots of water these days, rain is certainly needed.
