Local matters, especially when it comes to your weather forecast! Bringing you your local weather since 2017!

MM’s Level of Concern

MM’s Forecast for the Plateau
This forecast is tailor-made for the Cumberland Plateau by Meteorologist Mark Baldwin each day!
Rain is on the way!
And we’ll take every drop! Everyone on the plateau is either in extreme or severe drought, so we’ll take all the rain we can get.
This system will bring the first chance for a shower by this afternoon and evening. The more widespread covereage of rain will likely come after midnight. That rain doesn’t move out until Thursday morning.
One thing that we’ll need to be a bit mindful of is the slightly increased risk for a strong or severe storm Wednesday afternoon and evening. That risk is low but not zero. I’ll keep an eye on that.
That system is followed by colder air once again and we’ll have to keep an eye on Thursday night for the risk of scattered frost.
The forecast for Saturday doesn’t look bad at all, but there may be the slightest risk for a shower or a storm. Those rain chances are expected to increase on Sunday.

Another cold snap is expected around the 12th of May.

Threats Being Monitored in the 3-7 Day Outlook

Be sure to follow this site and/or download the free Meteorologist Mark app from your app store to get updates about the weather of the Cumberland Plateau sent to your phone as soon as I send them out. Thank you all so much!
Threat Outlook
The track of this system has changed a bit and that means our severe storm threat has increased a bit. This is still a low-end threat and it will depend on how much sun we can get Wednesday afternoon to help destabilize the atmosphere. This is another “low but not zero” risk that we’ll have to keep an eye on.
Severe storms can be found to our west today, with all hazards on the table.
