The Storm Prediction Center has issued a SEVERE T-STORM WATCH for the Cumberland Plateau until midnight. I’ll keep a very close eye on things and issue additional special updates, as needed.
The highlighted counties on the map below are included in this severe t-storm watch. You can also see the warnings in Kentucky associated with the line of storms.
The threats remain the same, as seen below. Damaging straight-line winds remain the main threat, followed immediately by flash flooding. The tornado threat is low but not zero. A brief spin-up cannot be ruled out.
