The Storm Prediction Center has now issued a severe t-storm watch until 1:00 a.m. CDT for Morgan and Scott counties. Roane County is also included in this watch. The concern is for the storms dropping down from Kentucky. You folks in Pickett County also need to pay attention to these storms, even though you’re not in the watch.
I’m still not 100% convinced that Cumberland and Fentress are out of the woods but it is looking better for us. I’ll keep an eye on things.
The watch includes all counties shaded in purple. Notice how intense those storms are.
It continues to look as though straight-line winds will be the main threat with any severe storm. However, we can never dismiss the flash flood risk when it’s this humid outside.
