Today is Saturday, September 5, 2026
11:30 Update: Storm storms occurred earlier around Big South Fork but they are dissipating. Antoher storm is moving toward Knoxville right now and threatens tailgating. The Storm Prediction Center updated the convective outlook and removed East TN from the slight risk, which is good! However, all of Middle and East TN remain in the marginal risk for severe storms for the rest of the day. I’ll keep a close eye on things!
12:20 Update: I’m watching a few areas of storms already developing this afternoon. Any of these could become severe. The storm near Tansi looks intense. Let’s be weather aware. Storms just west of Knoxville are severe.

MM’s Weather Worries

We’ll see how my concern changes through the day!

MM’s Wx Analysis
It’s an active weather day in our neck of the woods! Strong to severe storms with a complex of storms is expected to threaten our region today. Elsewhere, it’s just hot and humid with a chance for afternoon storms.

On This Day
I have a new episode of Weather and War out this week! It’s about a train heist that could have used a sunnier day!
