(Updates)MM’s Tues 5-Day: Both Sunshine & Rain in the 5-Day

Today is Tuesday, September 8, 2026

1:20 Update: As you saw in my forecast confidence this morning, I was wondering if an isolated shr would pop up today. That is actually happening in Overton and even Pickett counties. These are basically stationary, so coverage will be very limited. Just an fyi.

MM’s Wx Analysis

The same disturbance that brought some scattered shrs to our region on Monday has moved west…which is backwards to what we’re used to. That’s because the flow aloft is east to west and not west to east (that happens quite often in the summer months). High pressure keeps us dry on the plateau today and tomorrow, before the flow aloft switches back to a westward flow and pulls that activity to our west back into our neck of the woods.

Bringing you the lcoal weather since 2017!
