(Update) MM’s Thurs 5-Day: Rain & Storm Chances Increasing

Today is Thursday, September 10, 2026

2:55 Update: The Storm Prediction Center circled an area of interest that includes part of the plateau (seen below). They are monitoring storms this afternoon but they have stated that they do not anticipate issuing a severe t-storm watch. This just shows that storms are firing this afternoon around the region and any storm could be strong.

MM’s Wx Analysis

The high pressure that has barely been in control of our area has just about lost its grip completely. That will allow frontal systems to once again move closer to our area, providing multiple chances for showers and storms over the next week. As with most September patterns, the upper level flow is rather sluggish, keeping severe storm chances low across the country through the weekend.
