High pressure has lost its control of the Southeast and that is opening the door for frontal boundaries to move through the region once again. These fronts will bring scattered showers and storms to a large portion of the central and eastern U.S. through the weekend and into next week.

The most active weather today can be found across northern Minnesota, where very large hail, damaging winds, flash flooding, and tornadoes are all possible today. It’s a very active weather day for those folks!
