The Storm Prediction Center just issued a statement that says they do not anticipate extending the tornado watch eastward, which would have included Cumberland and Fentress Counties. They, like many of us, continue to believe that the line of strong to severe storms will weaken as it crosses the plateau.
Never the less, we could still see some strong winds. With our saturated grounds, some shallow-rooted trees may topple in the winds.
Strong southerly winds will continue to blow out there tonight ahead of the squall line. Some of these gusts could hit 35 mph.
I’ll be here watching it!
