lunchtime update

It is absolutely pouring out there this morning! I need to update you and let you know that the RAP model now has storms redeveloping on us this evening around dinner time (5-8:00 pm.). Be aware of this. These would follow an afternoon break that we will hopefully see in the rain. These evening storms shouldn’t be too intense, as long as we don’t get any sun this afternoon. Never the less, I’d say to start paying attention to the weather anytime after 4:00 this evening, and especially after 9:00 pm tonight.

The Storm Prediction Center has just issued a discussion saying that tornado watches will be issued for portions of West TN and north Mississippi between noon and 1:00 p.m. You heard it here first! (ha) That’s the area circled in red. These storms are expected to weaken as they approach the plateau much later tonight.

You all stay dry and safe today. There have already been some power outages across the county this morning. Can you imagine how many of you will be in the dark when that squall line blows through tonight? Charge them phones, etc and be prepared.

If I lose power I will lose internet. However, I will have my phone and I would still be able to update you using that. The Emergency Operations Center has been activated in Crossville and I have been invited to use that if I need to, as well.

I’ll be in touch!
