The plague of cloudy skies

These pesky clouds will likely hinder any good viewing of Jupiter tonight. I know…bummer. Still, go out and look up! You may get a break in time to see something. Keep in mind that you should be able to see four of Jupiter’s moons using only binoculars. Some of you had some luck last night!

These clouds are streaming out of the southwest, ahead of our next storm system that will be moving in during the afternoon and evening on Wednesday. It had looked like the clouds would hold off and let us see Jupiter more clearly this evening, but you know how much clouds love our plateau (ha).

Speaking of our next storm system, the Storm Prediction Center is considering placing the plateau in the slight risk for severe storms for Wednesday afternoon and evening. That would be an upgrade from the marginal risk category that we are in now. I’ll let you know in tomorrow morning’s blog if they decided to do that or not. Never the less, the threat isn’t all that high, but it’s enough to pay attention to.
