Tornado Watch for Fentress County

The Storm Prediction Center has decided to issue a tornado watch for Fentress County and the counties to their west until midnight. Those counties are shaded in yellow on the RadarLab image below. At this hour, storms are in Kentucky and moving east to northeast.

I’m not quite sure why this watch was necessary, but we need to pay attention to the weather. Other watches will likely be issued from the west as we go into the night.

Review your severe weather safety plans now. Know what you ‘ll do, just in case a warning is issued this evening. There is currently nothing on radar throughout Middle TN.

I’ll have another update in about two hours, or as needed. Areas along and north of I-40 are in the slight risk, while areas south of that are in the marginal. This remains a low-end threat for our area. If that changes I will let you know.
