Hurricane Ida, one of the most powerful hurricanes to hit the Gulf Coast, has made landfall at Port Fourchon, Louisiana. Landfall occurred at 11:55 a.m. this morning. Maximum sustained winds were at 150 mph, making Ida an extremely dangerous category 4. Winds are gusting even higher.
For the folks who stayed and are riding out the storm, today is a very dangerous and terrifying day. I’m sure they’d appreciated us all keeping them in our thoughts and prayers.
I’ll have a special blog post later this evening concerning Ida’s impacts on the plateau and what we can expect. Stay tuned for that.
