We wait.
It could start at any time now.
This, for me, is the hardest part. The waiting. I have had some reports of sleet on Plateau Rd in northern Cumberland county. I thought I saw some wet flakes in the rain shower we just had in Rinnie. It’s solid snow in Nashville. Lebanon has been reporting snow too. Some of the snowflakes they’ve posted online look huge!
The NWS in Morristown upgraded much of East TN, including Knoxville, to a winter storm warning for several inches of snow. Wild.
Now, the NWS in Huntsville, Alabama has upgraded much of their area to a winter storm warning for up to three inches of snow, with isolated higher amounts.
I think our ground is going to struggle to catch the snow, but tree limbs, cars, rooftops, and the like should have little trouble collecting snow once the temp drops to freezing.
I should note that these types of systems (upper level lows) are notorious for surprises. If heavier banding of snow sets up across your community, your snowfall totals could be higher.
Nothing else has changed since my last post at 3:00.
We ….just….wait….and remember that patience is a virtue. A virtue, I tell ya!!! lol
