Weather-Aware Times
Tonight
The threat is very low tonight but it’s not zero. I’ll monitor this throughout the day and let you know how things are evolving with this system. The trend has been toward little to no threat, but I’ll watch that closely.

This radar model runs from 9:00 pm tonight to 6:00 am Thursday morning. The timing of this particular model could be a bit slow, but it generally shows what is expected later tonight, which is a line of rain and storms that is weakening as it crosses the state.

Weather Summary
A new storm system will bring a chance for rain and storms by Wednesday night. We’ll also see gusty southerly winds to 25+ mph Wednesday night. Gusty straight-line winds are the main threat with any storm. Strong winds will continue out of the south for Thursday and wind advisories will likely be needed. Winds like what we’ll see tonight can cause sporadic power outages and so on. Secure any outdoor furniture.
Temps return to season normals by Friday before our next rain maker arrives Saturday night. Sunday is looking wet and windy. There is a low risk for some wintry precip Sunday night if the track of the storm system changes just a little bit. I’ll keep an eye on that!

Storm Prediction Center Threat
The Storm Prediction Center decreased our threat this morning at 7:00 a.m. They now only include us in the “general risk” for thunderstorms. They believe the severe threat will stay out in West Tennessee. I still think we run a very low risk of a damaging wind gust, but I’ll monitor through the day.
