MM’s Fri Wx Forecast

Forecast issued Friday, January 20, 2023

Weather Statements

Hazardous weather is not expected.

Five-Day Outlook

Weather Summary

Winds will be gusty again today but not nearly as gusty as they were yesterday. Still, that breeze will make our highs in the lower 40s feel much chillier. The forecast is looking dry from now through the daylight hours of Saturday.

By Saturday night, clouds will thicken and rain will likely develop around midnight. Rainfall looks widespread with this system but total amounts look light. That rain moves out Sunday night and it currently looks like rain will end before temps become cold enough for wintry precip.

Clouds and sun return ahead of our next storm system set to arrive by Tuesday evening. Right now, that looks like a wet and windy system. Wintry weather should be about 300 miles to our northwest and severe storms about 200 miles to our south. Once again, we will likely find ourselves in that “sweet spot” between two major impacts. I will track this closely, as any shift in the track of that storm could have big impacts on that portion of the forecast. Stay tuned. As of now, I feel like there’s a 70% chance we’ll get just rain, with a 10% chance of the forecast swinging in the wintry direction and a 20% chance of the forecast swinging toward severe t-storms. Winter in Tennessee can be a wild forecast ride! (ha)
