4:45 Update

While we are still under a tornado watch until 7:00 pm, this system appears to be transitioning from a tornado threat to a very heavy rain threat. That is rather common with systems this time of year (and into the spring). Be mindful that we could see some very heavy downpours of rain. Those of us who picked up heavy rain last night are most vulnerable to flooding. I picked up 1.5 inches of rain last night with a storm (and some very small hail) and so my ground is very saturated in Rinnie. Some areas could pick up at least a couple inches of rain from this system this evening.

We will remain weather aware, as conditions are still favorable for some rotating updrafts with stronger storms.

The tornado watch goes to 7:00, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see it cancelled early. I’ll keep you posted on that.

My power just flickered with a storm here at the north end of the county. There could be more of that, as some of these storms contain a lot of lightning.

The storms have pushed east of Nashville now and they have been dropped from the tornado watch, as have all counties to their west. The rest of us remain under a tornado watch.

I’m keeping an eye on things!
