2000- A five day stretch of severe weather reaches its zenith during the evening of the 24th and early the following morning. Seven tornadoes touch down in less than four hours, fourteen during the five days. The most damaging of these is an F2 which strikes southeast Hickman County, tearing a 7.8 mile path, and injuring 3. This is the 6th largest tornado outbreak in mid state history.
1894 – Six inches of snow blanketed Kentucky. Just four days earlier as much as ten inches of snow had fallen across Kentucky, Tennessee and Virginia. Six days earlier a violent storm had wrecked nine ships on Lake Michigan.
