Winter Weather Advisory Now In Effect
The counties included in the advisory are shown on the map below.

Winter Weather Advisory for Tonight and Saturday Morning
The forecast remains on track, with no major changes anticipated.
The winter weather advisory for the Cumberland Plateau is now officially in effect. That advisory began at 6:00 p.m. and is set to expire at 6:00 a.m. Saturday. The NWS has stated that the advisory will be extended on into the morning hours if needed.
The forecast continues to look on track, with most of us standing a really good chance for a dusting to a quarter of an inch of snow, especially on grassy and elevated surfaces. Others may see up to one half inch, and isolated areas may approach or even slightly exceed one inch. Slick spots on some roadways are possbile, especially on bridges and overpasses, so drive with care. This continues to look like a low impact winter weather event. Disruptions to power are not expected, nor are major disruptions to travel.
Incidentally, some of you have been following me on Facebook and know that I ordered a snow machine that I had hoped would be here in time for Christmas. It finally came today…with actual snow on the way. LOL I have a feeling I’ll get a lot of use out of this thing. haha
You all take care and stay warm! If you don’t hear anything else from me tonight you know I’ll be back in the morning with the usual morning forecast. Plus, I’ll be keeping you posted on an interesting system for the middle of next week. Thanks for trusting me with your weather!
