Watching the Weekend
Clouds hung on for dear life overnight, keeping overnight lows much warmer than they would have otherwise been. Those clouds should erode sometime this morning but they will be quickly replaced by clouds from another system by this evening. Temps slowly rebound today, reaching into the lower 40s (if clouds are slower to clear out we may not get out of the 30s).
A weak system along the northern Gulf Coast could send a sprinkle or flurry our way late tonight or on Wednesday. That system is too far south and too weak to bring us measureable precip.
Sunshine returns for Thursday and that dry weather will persist through Friday, though clouds will beging to increase once again as we end out the week. Those clouds are ahead of a powerful Gulf storm system that will be moving in for the weekend. This morning’s data is suggesting a cold rain Friday night and Saturday, but data is rather inconsistent on the track of the low. That data should become clearer over the next 48 hours. That storm track will ultimately determine precip type and amounts for our area. Precip is certain. The type of precip that falls from the sky is questionable. I’m watching this very closely and I urge you to stay tuned.
