Good evening, everyone! I’m happy to report that we have no storms to worry about tonight. We can all rest easy knowing we have no severe weather to worry about.
As for the rest of the week….
I’d be lying if I said confidence was high in this week’s forecast. It’s absolutely not. The entire forecast for this week depends on where a stationary frontal boundary sets up. Right now, I’m leaning toward a more northwest position. So what does that mean?
Well, if the front does indeed stall out to our northwest, from Memphis to Louisville, we would get a little bit of rain this week and a lot of warm and humid weather. The severe storms would stay to our west through Saturday (or at least te worst of them). That is entirely possible. We would dodge the big flood event that this front is capable of producing and we dodge the really nasty storms this front will be capable of producing (some of the tornadoes with this system could be very signficant).
So, that’s the forecast conundrum….does the front stall out far enough to our west to where we just get a little bit of rain, maybe a strong storm or two, and dodge the big flood and the nasty severe stuff? I’m leaning toward this solution.
The weather map below shows a possible position for the front Thursday morning. Where that front stalls out is key to figuring out the finer details to our forecast for the second half of the week.

Eventually, the front will move through our area. That may not occur until Sunday.
I’ll continue to monitor this very, very closely. Please stay tuned for forecast updates. I’ll have a complete forecast update in the morning!
