Today is Saturday August 22, 2026
4:36 Update: The storm is nearing Burkesville, KY and it is very severe. Winds are now possibly gusting up to 70 mph. Some rotation is also indicated. That warning can be seen below. That storm is still dropping toward Byrdstown.

4:12 Update: Just FYI, there’s a storm in KY I’m tracking toward Byrdstown and Jamestown. It should get to Jamestown around 5:00 pm. Damaging winds are possible with this storm. We’ll track it southeast!
A severe t-storm watch is in effect until 9:00 pm for much of the plateau. This does not include Cumberland County but it might as well. Storms are developing in Kentucky and moving this way. Not all of us will see storms, but the ones who do could see severe weather.
I’ll keep an eye on things. Stay tuned for important updates.
The counties in the official watch can be seen below highlighted. Again, even though Morgan, Scott, and Cumberland counties are not in the watch, I would go ahead and consider yourselves in it.

Nothing else in this update has been changed.
