2:15 Update: A Flash flood warning for southeastern Cumberland County is in effect until 4:00 pm. Radar estimates 2-3 inches of rain has fallen and more could fall. This includes areas around Crab Orchard, Tansi, Big Lick and Grassy Cove. Remember to never drive across flooded roads.

12:23 Update: Storms are firing off across the plateau a bit earlier than expected. Any of these storms could become strong. Storms are currently favoring the Cumberland County area.

The heat advisory for much of Middle TN continues through Sunday. The map below shows the highlighted counties included in the heat advisory.

Once again today, weak frontal boundaries are combining with afternoon heat and humidity to fire off more showers and storms across a large part of the country. The most active weather can be seen in shaded areas of red or yellow, where flash flooding (red) and severe storms (yellow) are possible today. Elsewhere, isolated severe storms can’t be ruled out.
