MM’s Weather Worries

MM’s Wx Analysis
High pressure remains in control of the Southeast….for one more day. Tomorrow, that high will break down and the cold front you see in the northern plains today will charge southward. Winds will switch to the northwest behind that front and usher in the coldest air of the season. Widespread frost and freeze conditions will cover much of the region by Sunday morning. Meanwhile, Texas is dealing with a flood threat today, while snowflakes fly across portions of Colorado and Wyoming.

Yesterday the percent of snow cover across the U.S. was 5%.
Today that percentage is 3%.

Drought Conditions
This map updates each Thursday.
Not much has changed since last week’s update. Since October is such a dry month anyway, it often takes drought a while to intensify. Drought conditions are expected to worsen in the coming weeks.

Last week’s drought update can be seen below, for reference.
