Ok, folks, the worst is past us for now. We still have some storms in the eastern edges of the plateau but the strongest storms have moved off for now. Below is the radar at 9:00 p.m.
We’ve been lucky to have not had much damage. I’ve heard of some power outages and a tree down here and there. The lightning was very frequent and that caused some issues with power.
I think we’ll be fine the rest of the night. Those storms back in Missouri are still trying to get their act together. When they make it here it will be well after midnight. If they get rowdy I’ll be online to let you know what to expect. At this time, I don’t foresee them being any different than what we’ve already had.
So, don’t be too surprised if thunder wakes you up later tonight. One thing is for sure, this atmosphere sure does support a lot of lightning!
This is the latest lightning map. You can see how rowdy those southern Missouri storms are. They are expected to form into a line later and move this way.
